Hi, this is Allison LeBaron.

Thanks for your interest in my handmade journals. I start by trimming natural leather into a sturdy cover. I hand tear 100% cotton rag paper to leave a deckled edge and then sew the pages into the leather cover.

I give you the options of selecting decorative endsheets, adding a closure button, and having initials stamped into the front cover.

A LeBaron hand bound leather book is the ideal companion for your thoughts. The LeBaron journal stands out for its quality. Let’s talk paper: No cutting corners here, only 100% cotton rag, handmade paper. You have to experience it to understand the quality. Rag paper does not warp or bend after using water-based media. You can apply watercolor or acrylic paint to your heart’s content. Once the paper dries it will be exactly as flat and even as when you started. The paper is gently sized, so you can write with dip or fountain pens, quill or brush — or with your pencils and markers — and the ink will not bleed into the paper fibers. The paper is also a nice weight. There is absolutely no bleed through to the other side, no matter what media you use in your journal. Finally, the journal is also perfect for those who like to add other materials. Glue in photos, clippings, leaves, wrappers, tickets and any other memorabilia. While any glue will work, I recommend an archival (acid-free) glue — an archival glue stick works very well.
